S.O.S.
Our 2011 Camp Theme
The Young Women did not know what it stood for.
All through camp we did activities that had to do with
seeking...
Different things We Seek
and how we seek them.
In the end we disclosed what S.O.S stood for
Seek our Savior
Below are a LOT of pictures taken at camp.
The first set are taken at my house before we depart.
This next group are of our Compass Course
"We Seek Direction"
They received their Lanyards at the end
I did not get a picture of a lanyard
but they were used all through camp.
A game we played where the girls had to arrange themselves
in different orders while on this plank.
They could not touch the ground
and in one round they could not speak.
If they fell off they started over.
The purpose was to learn teamwork.
Our "Cup Tree"
We buy everyone a cup and with Vinyl put there names
and the theme on it.
Then we don't have to continually use paper cups.
They are all responsible for their cups.
The girls also like to use the cup tree as a mailbox of sorts
to deliver Secret Sister gifts.
All the girls shared one big tent.
To avoid severe crowding
we had a little dome tent next to it for their buckets.
Fruit Pizza...Mmmmm.
Singing Camp songs from our songbooks
Leann and Julie
Because we have such a small group this year
8 girls
we decided to make skits easy.
We gave them each four words about seeking
ie: look, find search etc.
Then they had to rewrite a camp song any way they wanted
as long as they used the four words.
They then performed it.
Both groups did a great job.
This was a game called "Here's the Ball"
You introduce one ball
toss it around until everyone has had it.
Then get faster until they feel successful...
then add more balls w/out telling them.
You eventually have almost as many balls as girls
all being thrown around the circle at the same time.
A GREAT game for teaching listening skills
and communication.
Another game about communicating and working together.
All had a message about "seeking" something.
Certification Bingo
a great way to get certification in that is fun.
Plus you get to eat the skittles when your done.
Camp Pictionary
Even the Priesthood played.
Camp Scatergories.
This was so so much fun.
We actually played more times than planned.
Camp wouldn't be camp without
S'mores.
We had a great time.
The girls impressed me with their sweet testimonies
and how kind they were to each other at all times.
We also did a darling craft and
had some cute handouts.
I will post them later.
Here's to more fun camps.
It looks like fun times!! I miss camp!
